The short answer

Solo service electricians: Jobber Core at $29 a month. A 5-person service crew: Kickserv ($60) or Jobber Connect ($149), billed annually, or Housecall Pro Essentials ($299 on its electrical page) for flat-rate pricing, proposals and job costing. Fixed-price or AIA-billed projects: Knowify ($99 for 1 user, $329 for 10, billed yearly). ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, Service Fusion and FieldPulse are quote-only.

Service work or project work? Decide that first

My take: electrical shops split two ways, and most software is built for one of them.

  • Service work (repairs, panel swaps, EV chargers, troubleshooting): you need fast dispatch, a price book for on-site quotes, and payment in the field. Field service tools like Housecall Pro, Jobber and Kickserv are built for this.
  • Project work (new construction, tenant fit-outs, GC subcontracts): you need fixed-price or progress billing, change orders and job costing per phase. Knowify's pricing page lists AIA billing, change orders and subcontracts; ServiceTitan's electrical page lists WIP reporting and phased billing.

If you do both, price the tool that fits most of your revenue, then check whether it handles the other side well enough.

From each vendor's pricing page and electrical page, checked October 27, 2026. Jobber, Kickserv and Knowify prices billed annually (Knowify says "yearly"); Housecall Pro prices are from its electrical page, which shows no annual discount. "Not listed" means not on those pages, not that the product can't do it.

Watch the user count

Kickserv's $60 plan already includes 5 users and Knowify Advanced includes 10, while Jobber Core, Housecall Pro Basic and Knowify Core include 1. Compare the plan that fits your headcount, not the headline price.

Housecall Pro shows two price lists

Its electrical page lists Basic at $79 a month (1 user), Essentials at $299 (5 users) and Max at $649 (8 users). Its general pricing page shows $59, $149 and $299 billed annually by default. Ask which price applies to your shop before you sign up. More on the Housecall Pro pricing page.

Picks by shop type

Best for solo and small service crews

Jobber

Core is $29/mo for 1 user and Connect $149/mo for 5, billed annually. Its electrical page says it schedules electricians by availability and drive time, and customers can approve estimates and pay in an online portal. Job costing starts at Grow ($149/mo for 1 user, $229 for 5). 14-day trial.

Best for 2-8 electricians selling bigger installs

Housecall Pro

Its electrical page lists Basic at $79/mo for 1 user, Essentials at $299/mo for 5 users (+$100 per extra user) and Max at $649/mo for 8 (+$75). Essentials adds flat-rate pricing, a sales proposal tool for good, better, best options on installs, and job costing. A price book is on every plan. 14-day trial.

Best budget pick for a 5-20 person crew

Kickserv

$60/mo for 5 users, $119 for 10 and $199 for 20, billed annually. Run ($119) adds dispatch mapping and GPS check-ins. 30-day free trial.

Best for project and contract work

Knowify

Core is $99/mo for 1 user billed yearly ($149 monthly) and covers fixed-price and AIA jobs. Advanced is $329/mo for 10 users ($399 monthly) and adds job costing, cost plus and T&M contracts, and subcontracts. Extra users are $29/mo. Real-time dispatching is a Service Pro add-on at $99/mo billed yearly.

Worth a quote for multi-truck and commercial shops

ServiceTitan

Quote-only, priced per technician. Its electrical page covers residential, commercial and construction work, including project management, WIP reporting and phased billing. A consultant who works with ServiceTitan clients put it at about $200 to $300 per technician per month on Reddit (April 2025).

Also worth a quote: FieldEdge (its electrical page is built around multi-truck dispatch; no free trial, see FieldEdge pricing) and Service Fusion (unlimited users on every plan, see Service Fusion pricing).

What electricians say on Reddit

In a May 2026 r/electricians thread, an electrical contractor asked what to switch to after ServiceTitan, saying that for the cost they were "extremely disappointed with the support." Housecall Pro was the tool most replies named. One electrician who moved from Jobber wrote that Essentials "at $189/mo it does what I need" ($189 is the month-to-month Essentials price on Housecall Pro's general pricing page; its electrical page now lists Essentials at $299 for 5 users).

In another thread from the owner of a 4-person crew comparing Workiz and Housecall Pro, one commenter said of ServiceTitan: "For residential service it's king but probably not the best for commercial and industrial." These are individual reports, not a survey.
